Get notified the moment a customer books

Turn on instant alerts so your phone or computer pings the moment a booking, quote or enquiry arrives — including the one extra step iPhone users need.

What You’ll Learn

You'll learn how to enable instant alerts from the Notifications card in Account settings, what each alert shows, and how tapping one takes you straight to the request. You'll also learn the extra Add to Home Screen step iPhones and iPads need, and what to do if notifications are blocked.

Every new booking, quote or enquiry from your site already lands in your email inbox. Notifications add an instant alert on top — your phone or computer pings the moment a customer sends something, so you can respond while they're still thinking about you.

The email stays as your reliable record either way. Notifications are the fast lane, not a replacement.

Turning notifications on

Go to Account settings, open the Notifications card, and tap "Enable on this device". Your browser will ask permission to show notifications — choose Allow, and you're done.

Each phone or computer is enabled separately, so if you want alerts on both your phone and your laptop, turn it on from each one. The card keeps count for you — it'll show something like "Enabled on 3 devices" so you always know what's set up.

What the alert shows

The notification tells you the type of request and the key details — for example, "New booking request for your business name" along with the date, time and party size. Tap it and you land straight on the request in your dashboard, ready to respond.

For privacy, the alert itself only shows the customer's first name and the request basics. The full details — contact information, their message, any attachments — stay in your dashboard. See managing booking requests for what to do from there.

Using an iPhone or iPad? One extra step

This is the bit that trips almost everyone up, so take it slowly.

On iPhones and iPads, notifications don't work from Safari on its own — that's a rule Apple applies to every website, not something FastPage can change. The fix is simple: add FastPage to your home screen first, then enable notifications from there.

Here's how:

  1. Open FastPage in Safari on your iPhone or iPad.
  2. Tap the Share button (the square with the arrow pointing up).
  3. Choose Add to Home Screen.
  4. Open FastPage from that new icon on your home screen — not from Safari.
  5. Now go to Account settings → Notifications and tap "Enable on this device". This time it will work.

The Notifications card itself will remind you of this when you're on an iPhone or iPad, so you won't be left guessing.

Android phones and computers don't need any of this — for them, "Enable on this device" just works.

Adding FastPage to your home screen is worth doing regardless: it opens like an app, full screen, one tap from anywhere.

If notifications are blocked

If you (or your browser) said no to notifications at some point, the card will tell you: "Notifications are blocked for this site. Allow them in your browser settings, then come back and enable them here."

That means the block lives in your browser, not in FastPage. Open your browser's settings, find the notifications section, allow them for FastPage, then return to the Notifications card and tap "Enable on this device" again.

And remember — even while notifications are blocked, nothing is lost. Every request still arrives by email, so a missed alert never means a missed customer.

Turning notifications off

Changed your mind, or handing an old phone to someone else? Go back to the same card and tap Disable on this device. It only affects the device you're holding — your other phones and computers keep their alerts, and every request still arrives by email as always.
