Comparison
FastPage vs Wix for hospitality websites
Wix sells you a platform. Then it sells you the apps to make the platform useful. For a venue, the bundle adds up fast — and the site loads slower than your competitor's.
The verdict
Wix has the templates and the apps. Behind the sticker price, you're paying for add-ons, slower pages, and a platform you can't leave. For one venue page, that's a lot of overhead.

Upfront cost
FastPageFreeWixFreeMonthly cost
Most of the apps a cafe actually needs (menu, bookings, gallery, SEO) are paid add-ons on top of the base plan. The real monthly is closer to double the headline.

FastPageAbout an hourWixA weekendBuilt-in online shop / e-commerce
If you want to sell beans, merch, or gift cards online, this is a real Wix win — FastPage doesn't do e-commerce.
FastPageWixBuilt-in email marketing
Wix bundles email campaigns into its platform. FastPage assumes you use Mailchimp or similar separately.

FastPageWixLoads fast on a phone with patchy reception
Wix sites are famously heavy. On a phone in your venue with one bar of reception, customers wait, then give up.

FastPageWix
Wix has been around forever. They sell to everyone — venues, gyms, churches, ecommerce shops, freelancers. If you've used them before, you know the drill: pick a template, drag blocks around, browse the app market when you need a feature, click "Publish".
The drill is what makes Wix expensive in ways the sticker price doesn't show. But the drill is also what makes Wix powerful for the right buyer.
Where Wix genuinely beats FastPage
Wix's strength is breadth. A blog, an online shop, a forum, a members area, a thousand free templates, an AI builder that's genuinely decent, email marketing built in. If your venue needs a website AND a shop for branded merch or beans AND a paid newsletter AND a wholesale ordering portal, Wix is a legitimate one-stop-shop. We're not pretending that's nothing.
FastPage doesn't do any of those. We're a single-page venue builder, not a CMS. If you want to sell merch online, run an email marketing list, or build a membership portal, Wix is the right tool, not us.
Where the Wix bill grows
Wix's pricing page quotes a "Core" plan that gets you the platform. That's the base. The menu app you'll want is a third-party add-on with its own subscription. The booking integration is another add-on. The gallery app that doesn't look like 2014 is another one. Each of these is a separate monthly fee.
By the time you've added the apps a venue actually needs, the real bill is closer to double the headline. And if you ever decide to leave Wix, you start from scratch — Wix sites can't be exported.
The page-speed thing
Wix sites are famously slow. Not "I notice on my fast home wifi" slow — "the customer's phone gives up loading and they go to your competitor instead" slow. If you've ever pulled up a Wix site in the venue with one bar of reception, you know.
This isn't a fixable Wix problem. It's structural: Wix sites are built from a heavy framework of drag-drop blocks, and a lot of code has to load before the page renders. FastPage sites are small by design.
When each is right
Wix is right when you genuinely want feature breadth — a venue site AND a shop AND a newsletter AND a membership area — and you'll use the pieces. The bundle plus add-ons adds up but you get a lot for it.
FastPage is right when you want a clean, fast venue page and nothing else. One subscription, no add-ons, no marketplace.
Try FastPage free for 14 days. If your business genuinely needs Wix's breadth, you'll know — your needs go beyond a venue page. If you just need a venue page, save yourself the marketplace.
Being honest about it
We built FastPage because we think it's the right tool for hospitality venues. We don't think it's the right tool for everyone.
Pick Wix if…
- You want a website, online store, and email marketing all in one place.
- You'll genuinely use the app marketplace and don't mind paying separately for each piece.
- You've used Wix before and you're comfortable with how it works.
Pick FastPage if…
- You want a venue website, not a website-shop-newsletter combo.
- You don't want a separate add-on subscription for your menu on top of your base plan.
- You want a fast page that works on a phone in the venue.
